H.E. Ahmed Muhammad Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Zwaid, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Uganda, on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council- UMSC Headquarters in Old Kampala.
The Ambassador was received by His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the 2nd Deputy Mufti, on behalf of His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda. He was joined by Hon. Hadji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, the UMSC Secretary General; Hon. Counsel Hajji Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration; Imam Shaffii Kagiiko, UMSC Secretary For Social Services & Grants and Sheikh Erias Kigozi, Kadhi of Wakiso Muslim District.
Dr. Sheikh Bukenya and Hadji Muluubya briefed the Ambassador on the historical background of the UMSC, its structure, activities since its inception, and its current state of affairs. The meeting was marked by brotherly conversations that touched on various issues aimed at promoting societal transformation, particularly in the area of development.
The two sides agreed to strengthen their engagement through more interactions in the near future. Before his departure, Ambassador Ahmed donated food packages, including rice, maize flour, sugar, and cooking oil, to support a group of needy people.
