Kibaale– It was a day of profound gratitude and cultural pride as the Busoga Kingdom, local leaders, and the clergy gathered at St. Patrick SS Nabisoigi (SPACK) in Kibaale Town Council to celebrate a decade of academic excellence and regional transformation.

The event, marked by the commissioning of the new Nadiope IV Boys Dormitory on March 7th, 2026 in Namutumba district, highlighted the power of “humble beginnings” and the collective responsibility to secure the future of the Basoga people.
A Royal Call to Action: Ending Teenage Pregnancy
The 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom, Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, who was chief guest, delivered a stirring message centered on the Kingdom’s “Education is the Master Key” initiative.
Highlighting Isebantu Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV’s role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, the Prime Minister emphasized the Abasada N’empango program, implemented by Kyabazinga Initiatives, which engages men and boys to end teenage pregnancy and child marriage.
Al-Haji Osman also officially launched SPACK’s Empango Club to champion these values within the school.
To support the new curriculum, the Kingdom donated 10 iPads to the school’s ICT center, urging the government to extend similar infrastructure support to private educational investments.
“When I see these young ladies and boys singing about ending early pregnancy, it gives me hope. Let us keep our children in school until they complete their studies,” said Al-haj Osman.
Director Julius Mwanja, who co-founded the school with his wife Annette Katono, shared the emotional history of the institution.
Born from a vision in 2014 to provide quality, affordable education in the Busiki Chiefdom, the school has grown from a single acre to an 8-acre campus.
Mwanja revealed that SPACK has consistently ranked as the top school in Namutumba District and has featured among the top 120 schools nationally.
Beyond the new Nadiope IV Dormitory, the school honored some of the 11 traditional chiefs of Busoga by naming student houses after them (Kisiki, Nkono, Zibondo, and Gabula), fostering a deep connection to heritage.
Former EALA legislator, Hon. Bernard Mulengani, inspired students by reflecting on his own journey. He reminded the learners that their background does not define their destiny. He challenged students to answer: Who am I? Who do I want to be? And who do I want to be with?
“It does not matter what you are now; it only matters what you will be in the future. Success is determined by merit, not your background,” Mulengani told students.
Representing Wakula Patrick, the Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese, Rev. Can. Kemba Patrick the diocesan secretary commended the school’s directors for their “heart for the people.”
The event served as a thanksgiving for the school’s survival through systemic challenges and its continued growth as a beacon of light in the region.
Kemba called upon the community to enroll their children at SPACK instead of taking them to school outside Busoga. He praised Director Mwanja for extending academic standards of Seeta High and Namilyango to Kibaale in Namutumba.
Namutumba District Education Officer (DEO) Isiko Mohammed also lauded the school’s management, noting that “action speaks louder than words” and confirming that SPACK’s results have set a high bar for the entire district.
As the celebrations concluded with greetings for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr and Easter seasons, the message remained clear: Unity is the way forward. Leaders urged the community to embrace agriculture during the rainy season and called upon elected officials to set aside politics and serve the people.
Students entertained guests at the event who included parents and various leaders.
