JUBA– President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged the citizens to work towards achieving peace in the nation.

The President was speaking during the swearing-in of the newly appointed government officials, where he emphasised the need for strict adherence to the rule of law, and institutional reforms.
These newly appointed officials include Aleu Ayieny Aleu, Minister of Interior, Ezekial Lol Gatkuoth, Minister of Public Service and Human Resources Development, Anthony Lino Makana, Minister of Labour and Sarah Nyanath Elijiah Yong was sworn in as Minister of Culture, Museums, and National Heritage.
At the state level, the President, sworn in Madhang Majok Meen as the Governor for the Lakes State, and Deng Akuei Kak as the Deputy Governor for Upper Nile state.
President Kiir directed the Minister of Interior to re-organise the police force in order to effectively enforce the rule of law effectively to curb criminality in order to allow the citizens to conduct their activities freely.
The Head of State further directed the Minister of Labour to ensure that the labour rights of hardworking citizens are protected.
The President also tasked the Minister of Public Service and Human Resources Development accelerate reforms in the public service to ensure that the rightful employees receive their fair share of benefits and recognition.
President Kiir charged the Governor of Lakes State with ensuring that the current levels of security and stability are sustained, as peace at the state level is paramount to the cohesion and development of the nation.
