Mukono District Local Government, in partnership with the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme (GKMA-UDP), has today held a meeting with Project Affected Persons (PAPs) to disclose the Property Valuation Report for those severely affected by the Ntenjeru–Buule Road construction project.

The meeting, held in Ntenjeru–Kisoga Town Council, attracted key stakeholders including officials from the Mukono District Headquarters, local leaders, representatives from the GKMA–UDP, officers from the Office of the Chief Government Valuer, and all affected PAPs.
During the engagement, the District Community Development Officer, Ms. Minsa Namukose Kirya, expressed deep appreciation to all residents who willingly offered their land to the government to pave the way for the development of the road. She also commended them for their patience and continued cooperation throughout the consultation and valuation processes.
Mr. Andrew Oduma, from the Office of the Chief Government Valuer, explained that the report presented includes detailed assessments of the affected properties covering land, buildings, crops, and disturbance allowances. He emphasized that professional valuers conducted thorough field assessments to ensure fairness and transparency in compensation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lamek Sseryazi, the Social Development Specialist from the Ministry of Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs, noted that the disclosure exercise aims to ensure that only those genuinely affected by the road works receive compensation. He further stressed the importance of verifying ownership documents and property boundaries before any demolition or compensation takes place.
In her remarks, the Clerk to Council of Mukono District, Ms. Alowo Eunice Evelyn, representing Ms. Elizabeth Namanda, the Chief Administrative Officer of Mukono District, applauded all community members who offered their land in support of government development programs. She confirmed that the Ntenjeru–Buule Road project has been officially approved and that the contract handover to the contractor is expected soon, paving the way for construction works to commence.
Earlier on 2nd October 2025, the government officially launched the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ntenjeru–Buule 7.8km road section in Mpatta Sub- County (Bujiji to Buule), valued at UGX 37 billion. The function was presided over by the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hon. Hajjat Minsa Kabanda. The remaining kilometers of the project are also set to be constructed soon, following the Ministry’s advertisement of bids for contractors.
Both district and GKMA–UDP officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a transparent compensation process and the timely commencement of construction for the benefit of all residents.
