NAGURU– Uganda Police Force has commenced investigations in the matter where it is alleged that some of their officers at Mbale Central Police station were involved in destroying Posters of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the Presidential Candidate for National Unity Platform (NUP).
In the viral video, one of the officers dressed in a black T.Shirt and Khaki trouser in a company of other police men in blue camouflage uniforms are seen pointing guns to civilians suspected to be supporters of President hopeful Kyagulanyi Ssentamu , after trying to resist to abandon their candidates portrait.
“The Uganda Police Force has taken note of two videos circulating on social media
showing police officers allegedly tearing a candidate’s poster during operations.These incidents reportedly took place yesterday 24 September 2025, in Mbale City and the Central Business District of Kampala City.” Reads part of Police statement
Police promised to take appropriate action as soon as the investigations in the matter are concluded and any of its members is found in the wrong side of the law.
