KAMPALA- The Judiciary of Uganda has opened a Condolence Book for retired Supreme Court Justice Prof Wilson Kanyeihamba who passed away at the beginning of this week.
The Condolence Book has been put at Level 2 of Supreme Court Building at Judiciary headquarters.
“Following the passing of Justice Prof. George Wilson Kanyeihamba (Rtd). The book will remain open until the Judge is laid to rest. All are welcome to pay tribute to a distinguished jurist and legal scholar whose legacy shaped Uganda’s legal landscape.” Reads part of the official statement from the Judiciary communications team.
Justice Kanyeihamba who served at Supreme Court from 1997 to 2009, passed away on 14th July, 2025, at the age of 85.
Justice Prof. George Wilson Kanyeihamba was an accomplished author, teacher, politician and judge who also served as a Cabinet Minister and member of Parliament. He was also the Chairperson of the Legal Committee of the Constituent Assembly that made the 1995 Constitution.
The Family together with the government are currently in preparations to come up with a detailed burial program.
