Kampala-President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday unveiled a new Cabinet list that saw several long-serving ministers dropped and replaced as part of a major government reshuffle.

Among the notable figures left out of the new Cabinet is Matia Kasaija, who previously served as Minister of Finance, alongside Moses Ali, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, and David Muhoozi, who served as State Minister for Internal Affairs.
Also dropped from the list is Betty Amongi, who previously headed the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
Other senior government officials who did not make it onto the new Cabinet include Ruth Nankabirwa, the Minister for Energy and Mineral Development who has served in ministerial positions since 1998, Evelyn Anite, the State Minister for Finance in charge of Investment, Fred Mwebesa from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, and Raphael Magezi from the Ministry of Local Government.
The reshuffle also saw the exit of Jeje Odongo, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kabyanga Godfrey from the ICT Ministry, former Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua, Peace Mutuuzo, the State Minister for Gender, John Mulimba from Foreign Affairs, and Musa Ecweru from the Office of the Prime Minister.
Others who were not included on the new Cabinet list are Mululi Mukasa, Asamo Hellen Grace, Obiga Kania, Bwino Kyakulaga, Adoa Christine, Peter Lokeris, Morriku Kaducu, Sam Cheptoris, and Kenneth Omona, who has instead been appointed as an ambassador to a country yet to be announced.
The latest changes mark one of the more notable Cabinet shake-ups, with several experienced ministers leaving government while new faces are expected to take up key leadership positions.
