Police in Mukono District have intensified investigations into the suspected murder by strangulation of Ms Pamela Tumwebaze, 46, the Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU).

According to Police, Tumwebaze, a resident of Guafu West Village, Seeta Ward in Goma Division, Mukono District, was allegedly killed in the early hours of February 11, 2026, at her residence.
According to preliminary police findings, at around 2:00 a.m., the family’s housemaid reportedly saw an unknown man inside Tumwebaze’s bedroom. The suspect was allegedly dressed in the deceased’s jeans and stockings at the time. He is said to have fled the scene shortly afterward, carrying a laptop bag believed to belong to the deceased.
The housemaid, together with the children, later checked on Tumwebaze and found her unresponsive in her bed. She was rushed to Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect and are pursuing leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
