Kampala- Shock and concern have gripped the entertainment industry following reports that controversial Kadongo Kamu singer Vincent Ssegawa, now known as Lukeman Ssegawa, is in critical condition after being attacked by unknown assailants.
According to reliable sources, Ssegawa sustained serious head injuries after he was reportedly assaulted by thugs while returning from the mosque. He was rushed for medical attention and is said to be in a delicate state.
The incident comes just days after Ssegawa’s return from Yemen, where he had reportedly spent some time. Since embracing Islam, the singer had withdrawn from the music scene, citing religious teachings that do not permit him to continue performing.
Ssegawa, once a prominent and outspoken figure in the Kadongo Kamu music industry, has in recent years remained largely out of the public eye following his conversion.
Fans and fellow artistes have taken to social media to express shock and send prayers for his recovery as investigations into the attack continue.
