Old Kampala– Independent Kampala Central parliamentary candidate Abraham Luzzi has moved to reconcile with Muslim leaders in Mityana District, announcing that he has forgiven them over allegations that campaign funds were misused during his previous parliamentary bid.
Luzzi made the announcement during a meeting with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Secretary General, Hon. Hadji Abbas Mulubya Ssekyanzi, at the UMSC headquarters in Old Kampala. The meeting followed Luzzi’s participation in Friday Juma prayers at the National Mosque on December 4, 2025.
In his welcoming remarks, Hadji Mulubya briefed Luzzi on the ongoing activities of the UMSC and commended him for taking a bold step to contest for the Kampala Central seat in the National Parliament. He then appealed to Luzzi to forgive the people of Mityana, particularly the Muslim leaders who had previously pledged to support his candidature.
> “It is my humble request that you forgive the people of Mityana, especially the Muslim leaders who failed to fulfill their promises to support your election as their area Member of Parliament,” Hadji Mulubya said.
In response, Luzzi accepted the plea, stating that he had no reason to refuse such a request from the highest Muslim authority.
> “I now announce that I have forgiven all the people of Mityana for the way they treated me in the past,” he said with a smile.
Luzzi also expressed deep appreciation to the UMSC leadership for the developments and progress he witnessed at the headquarters.
Prior to his meeting with Hadji Mulubya, Luzzi joined hundreds of Muslim faithful who gathered to listen to a sermon delivered by Sheikh Hussein Ali Bulafu. The congregation was attended by Muslim leaders at various levels, along with other distinguished members of the wider Muslim fraternity.
