“In the application before me, parties have adduced evidence and raised arguments for and against a temporary injunction against the annual general meeting of the Uganda Law Society scheduled for 18th October 2025 at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel Entebbe. That its from this background that court became satisfied that the constitutional right to a fair hearing of both parties was fully observed.
On 17th September 2025, the General Assembly of Uganda Law Society that sat at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, resolved to suspend Philip Munaabi, the ULS General Secretary and Geoffrey Turyamusiima, representative of the Central Region for engaging in a failed coup against the President of ULS.

Background
Ms. Nabijewa Martha and Mr. Tumukunde Tonny who are members of the Uganda Law Society have taken legal action against the Uganda Law Society by filing Miscellaneous Cause No. 267 of 2025: Nabijewa Martha & Anor v. Uganda Law Society & 5 Others. The suit has been fixed for hearing on 20th October 2025.
The suit challenges the legality of the general meeting of members of the Uganda Law Society held on 17th September 2025 at Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala on grounds that the Uganda Law Society Council which convened the said meeting and has called for the
annual general meeting of the Uganda Law Society to be held on 18th October 2025 at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Entebbe was not properly constituted. This is because the Attorney General and the Solicitor General
(statutory members of the Council) and two Council members, Munaabi Phillip (Secretary) and Turyamusiima Geoffrey (central region representative) did not participate in the Council decision to convene the above two meetings.
