MPIGI-Kalyango Baker aka “Engo ya Firebase” , a National Unity Platform (NUP) foot soldier who lost the party flag to incumbent, Hillary Kiyaga aka Dr.Hilderman has revealed that he will be appearing on the ballot come 2026.
Baker who seem not to have agreed with the decision of Party’s Elections Management Committee (EMC), says that he has decided to take the battle to the voters who will decide on the suitable candidate to represent them in Parliament.
“Many of you claiming that you know me, I don’t think you know me. You got to know me in 2021 after we had been released from Jail, so nothing much you know as you claim.” Kalyango stated in a bitter tone
He asked fellow party members who don’t agree with his decision to respect it because in a democratic state everyone has a right to do what they believe in provided they don’t hurt others.
“If you think that we are going to be defeated in the elections, leave us to lose.Things on Social media are so different from what is on the ground, if you think that am bothering you on social media, just unfollow me.”
Kalyango coming as an independent in the race of Mawokota North Member of Parliament, will lead to dividing of opposition votes which will increase Hon.Ameria Kyambadde’s chance of getting more votes than these two.
