Lubowa, Kajjansi– Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi wine one of the contenders for Presidency in the 2026 General elections on National Unity Platform (NUP) flag, has broken down the meaning of his campaign Slogan “Protest Vote”.

In his inaugural speech after being nominated as a Presidential Candidate by Electoral Commission, Kyagulanyi noted that on many occasions, Ugandans have been engaging in elections and have instead ended up being frustrated by the ruling regime.
“We have voted before, we have won before and we have been rigged before.But this election is not going to be your usual election. We are going into this election as a way of protesting against all the injustice that has happened to us for 40 years.”
He therefore added, that Ugandans must use this to election season to rally the people of Uganda to express their anger and their hope in the ballot box.
“We are going in this election to protest legally, constitutionally and non violently. We must mobilize the people of Uganda to come out vote in very large numbers; numbers too big to rig.”
Kyagulanyi further added, that people of Uganda must lay different strategies and make different plans to ensure that they free themselves.
The Electoral Commission concluded the nomination exercise with a total of eight candidates cleared to contest as for Uganda’s highest political office.
