Presidential Hopeful.
Comrades,
I thank lawyers for attending the EGM on Wednesday 17/9/2025 during which they expressed themselves clearly on many issues.

Despite my obvious disagreement with some of the decisions taken for reasons I explained regarding the need not bend rules for political whims and my insistence on radical democratization as the means to #UnChainTheBar from judicial, political and economic chains, I accept the resolutions of the meeting for the sake of a united ULS we all cherish.
I hope we never again, in future, have bouncers and strangers attending our meetings despite the potential for tempers to flare when discussing combustible matters.
Future meetings of ULS must NOT stifle debates on issues and motions nor come off as following a predetermined script. Debate must be free, open and organic.
To the people our campaign annoyed, for whatever reasons, I am sorry.
To those who did not see the point of the campaign, democracy cannot defend itself. Democrats like you and I must defend it.
Whatever we do, let us do it within the law. The notion of stretching the limits of law is seductive but dangerous—unless the law is UNJUST—like aperthied laws.
Our divided ULS yearns for unity. The courts will not solve our problems. They are themselves unable to help themselves. The rule of law, if we cherish and nourish it can remedy our divisions significantly.
I urge all of us to be calm, and together, we confront the real enemies of Uganda: poverty, militarism, dictatorship, monarchical tendencies like the Muhoozi project & hopelessness.
I will continue to cooperate with all Ugandans in working for a better, democratic and socially just Uganda.
