City Advocate Eron Kiiza, one of those who have expressed interest to Contest for Uganda Law Society (ULS) Presidency, is transversing various parts of the country seeking support from various stakeholders.
Among those whom he has met include top leadership of Several Kingdoms, Political parties, as well as legal practitioners in various regions.
During, his visit to Omusinga wa Rwenzururu, Kiiza was commended for his tireless efforts in ensuring that he regains back his freedom (as one of the lawyers who represented Musinga in a treason case)
“I have known Kiiza for quiet some time, so I have no doubt that once elected the President of Uganda Law society, he will do the work perfectly.” Charles Wesley Mumbere , Omusinga of Rwenzururu stated.
Musinga offered Kiiza a gift of a shield as a sign that he wishes him well in his struggle of leadership.
During Kiiza’s visit to Bunyoro, Kasirivu Kyamanywa, the Omuhikirwa of Bunyoro , asked him to always remain a disciplined and humble servant as he is even after being voted into office.
“The lawyers represent us in challenging moments, therefore you’re association must be exemplary without controversies.”
He further reminded Eron, that whatever he does, should aim at maintaining peace of our country.
“We thank you for this opportunity, and I promise that once we are elected into office, we shall return to say thank you.” Kiiza remarked
Among the politicians who have rallied behind Kiiza, is National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Vice President for Northern region Linah Zedriga who described him as one of the few individuals who stand for integrity and independence of lawyers.
This has come at a time when Uganda Law Society is going to hold it’s General Meeting where a lot of issues including those related to elections are going to be discussed.
