Kawempe – Doreen Kaija , the head of National Unity Platform’s (NUP) School of leadership who was arrested from her home in Mbuya on Sunday, has been produced before Kawempe Chief Magistrates Court located in Kanyanya.

According to information from reliable sources, she is expected to be charged with offence of unlawful drilling as other NUP supporters who were recently charged before the same court.
Among the notable figures on the same charges are; Waiswa Mufumbiro Deputy Spokesperson of NUP, Eddie Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi, Calvin Tasi aka Bobi Giant, private body guards to Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi as well as Saudah Madada, the aspiring candidate for Kampala Woman Lord Councilor on independent ticket.
Prosecution contends that the above accused persons and others still at large, on 12th February, 2025, at the National Unity Platform offices at Makerere-Kavule, Wandegeya, Kawempe Division in Kampala District, without permission of the Minister, were present at a meeting or assembly of persons, for training or drilling in the practice of military exercises, movements or evolutions.
