KAMPALA– The Chief Justice of Uganda, Alfonse Owiny Dollo, has issued instructions to all Judicial officers to have all matters involving Advocates scheduled for Wednesday 17th September 2025 be given other dates.

According to the circular dated Monday 15th September 2025, issued by the Acting Chief Registrar Pamella Lamunu Ocaya, it’s to enable all Advocates to participate in their General Meeting organized by their Umbrella Association of Uganda Law Society (ULS)
“The Hon. The Chief Justice has instructed that being a working day, the Courts should continue to hear cases that are not affected by the absence of advocates. The cause lists for the day should, therefore, be adjusted acccordingly.” Reads part of the Circular
This circular has been copied to the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, Acting Principal Judge, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to Judiciary and Vice President Uganda Law Society.
Last week , Uganda Law Society announced that this week they will be holding their General Meeting to handle a number of issues including deciding the fate of suspended council members as well as holding elections for ULS representatives at Judicial Service commission.
