MULAGO– The Aids Support Organization (TASO) has expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of Joint Medical Store (JMS) for always ensuring that they have all the required drugs and consumables in a timely manner.
On addressing the press during after a meeting with a team of JMS top management at TASO headquarters in Kampala, Dr. Etukoit Bernard Michael ,revealed that it’s the good working relationship with both organizations that has led to improved services within all their 11 Centers country wide.
“As TASO marks 38 years of existence this year, I would like to remind you that we have an outstanding partnership with Joint Medical Store since ever since our establishment. JMS has been supplying us Personal protective equipment , drugs , Hygienic materials , as well as food supplements to address malnutrition among some of our clients.” Said Dr. Etukoit
He also commended JMS for an efficient system in logistic management which has enabled TASO to have timely supplies of drugs and consumables to all its branches and partner organizations across the country. “We are ready to continue working JMS and among the key issues we have discussed in our engagement, is how to support each other in strengthening this partnership.”
About their operations, Etukoit pointed out, that TASO currently caters for a total of 120,000 HIV positive people across all its centres country wide.
“Apart from dealing with HIV related cases, we also handle other cases like Tuberculosis (TB),Malaria, Community work and Capacity building of Health workers.”
Dr. Bildard Baguma, the Executive Director of Joint Medical Store , started that they are in process of implementing their strategy of reaching out to all their partners country wide.
“We reach out to various stakeholders like hospitals, seat in comfort of their facilities, learn what we do and the same time can order whatever they need. Through this initiative, we introduce turnkey projects like construction and doing Civil works for the hospitals and Health Care centers.” Baguma said
During this visit, Joint Medical Store handed over an accolade to TASO as a token of appreciation towards their outstanding partnership.
