GULU– The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), as part of the implementation of its strategic plan and in line with the UMSC land policy, has partnered with Gazmart Uganda Limited to construct a multi billion-shilling commercial mall on UMSC’s prime land in the heart of Gulu City, Northern Uganda.
The handover ceremony of the site was conducted in Gulu City on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025. The UMSC was represented by Hon. Nasser Musa Odongkara, Head of the Department of Awqaf (Endowment and Property), accompanied by Hon. Sheikh Abdu-Barri Muhammad Kaloozi, Secretary for Zakat Collections and Distributions. Gazmart Uganda Limited was represented by its Executive Director.
The function was attended by several local government leaders, including the Mayor of Gulu City, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), and Sheikh Muzamir Ismael Mandela, the host Kadhi of Acholi Muslim District, among other Muslim leaders.
Sheikh Mandela thanked the Mufti and the entire UMSC administration for the project, describing it as timely in accelerating development within the Muslim community in Northern Uganda. Meanwhile, the area leaders expressed their profound gratitude to the Council for initiating the project, noting that it aligns with government developmental programs and welcoming it as a new addition to the Gulu City skyline.
