KOLOLO– Hon. Annet Anita Among, the Speaker of Parliament last night was declared the winner of Second Vice Chairperson (female) from the concluded party internal elections.
In a competitive exercise which led to President Museveni’s intervention after Hon. Rebecca Kadaga’s accusations of being dumped after serving the Party whole heartedly, Among received a land slide victory.
Anita Among received a landslide victory of 11680 votes (92.8%) well as Hon. Kadaga received 902 votes (7.2%).
Although Kadaga was known to be strong in Busoga region where she has served as a Parliamentary representative for more than 15 years, Among who was nicknamed “Mulamu” loosely translated as the in law having got married to Hon. Moses Magogo a Musoga, defeated Kadaga in most of the districts.
