Mukono, Uganda – Church of Uganda will convene the All Clergy Conference (ACC) from 18th to 21st August 2025 at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono.
The conference will bring together Clergy from Church of Uganda’s 39 Dioceses to share fellowship, strengthen pastoral ministry, and reflect on the mission of the Church in the 21st century.
Guided by the theme *“The Good Shepherd and the Flock of God”* (Ezekiel 34:1–31), the ACC will be officially opened by His Grace, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda. He will also preside and preach at the opening Holy Communion service on Tuesday, 19th August 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
The four-day program will feature sermons, keynote addresses, workshops, and panel sessions facilitated by leading church leaders, academics, and professionals.
Delegates will arrive on Monday, 18th August, for registration and orientation.
The next day will begin with a Holy Communion service, followed by welcome addresses from the Provincial Secretary and the Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University.
The first set of sessions will focus on Clergy well-being. Rev. Prof. Samuel Luboga will present on ‘Physical and Mental Health of a Shepherd’ and Mr. Balaam Muheebwa, the Provincial Treasurer, will lead discussions on ‘Preparing for Retirement: Financial Planning and Management.’
Biblical exposition on the theme will be delivered by Rt. Rev. Michael Okwii Esakhan, Bishop of Kumi Diocese.
Other reflections will include ‘Making Discipleship the DNA of the 21st Century Church’ by Dr. Jerry Rueb, and ‘An Overview of Holistic Leader Development’ by Dr. Habtamu Umer. The day will conclude with a special graduation ceremony for PEN Certificate recipients.
The program will include Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi on ‘The Shepherd and the Family,’ Rev. Canon Paul Sembiro on ‘Spiritual Health of the Shepherd,’ and Canon John Fredrick Kazibwe on ‘The Clergy’s Role in Enhancing the Philosophy of the Church in Education Institutions.
The official closing day, Wednesday, 20th August, will feature a Holy Communion service and commissioning led by the Archbishop.
Over the course of the conference, delegates will engage with critical issues including the spiritual, physical, and financial health of Clergy, the role of Clergy in education institutions, and the impact of family life on ministry.
The ACC will also provide networking opportunities with Church partners and stakeholders, including Uganda Christian University, Uganda AIDS Commission, Words of Hope Uganda, Stanbic Bank, Equity Bank, Liberty Insurance, and Child Evangelism Fellowship.
In addition to plenary sessions and workshops, participants will take part in sports, fellowship, prayer, and evening gatherings to enrich the communal life of the conference.
