KAMPALA- Maurice Mukiibi, one of the longest serving program hosts at Mengo based BBS Terefayina, has thrown in the towel to join politics.
This website has received Information, that Mukiibi has already tendered in his resignation letter and he is expected to contest under Mathias Mpuuga’s DF Party on the Parliamentary seat for Mawogola South, in Sembabule district.
“I want to express my gratitude to BBS Terefayina for providing me with this opportunity since its establishment. I have acquired valuable experience in my role and will never be the same again. So, I thank all the viewers, my fellow employees, and the administration of the TV station. Until we meet again,” he stated while in one of his last programs.
If all goes as planned, Mukiibi will be challenging Hon. Gorreth Namugga in Mawogola County South in Sembabule District on the ticket of Democratic Front (DF).
It seems not to be a simple race as Namugga is expected to use the National Unity Platform (NUP) , as Mukiibi is expected to utilize the influence of Hon. Mathias Mpuuga in greater Masaka as well as his media influence and close association to Buganda Kingdom.
