His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the 2nd Deputy Mufti of Uganda, is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is representing His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, who is attending the World Council of Religious Leaders in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.
During his visit, Dr. Sheikh Bukenya met with top officials of the Muslim World League (MWL), a Saudi-based international charity. At the MWL Headquarters in the Holy City of Makkah, he held a high-level meeting with His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdu-Rahman Alzaid, the Deputy Secretary General of the League.
Their discussions focused on strengthening the long-standing cooperation between the Muslim World League and the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC). Among the key issues addressed was the preservation and promotion of the esteemed practice of Qur’an recitation among Muslim communities in Africa and beyond.
Also in attendance were Sheikh Abdallah Bin Rahman, Director of the Al-Kitaab and Sunnah Department at MWL, Sheikh Khaled Othuman, and other senior officials.
