KAMPALA– Singer Daniel Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee of MDG Law Advocates, have issued an intention to sue against Singer Mike Mukwaaya aka Mikie wine
“Our Client published and secured a copyright for his song “NKUGUDDEMU OYAGALA CASH” in 2004. Our Client has exclusively performed this song for twenty one (21) years.” Reads part of the intention to sue notice date 16th July 2025.
That , Mikie wine recently reproduced the same song, save for just adding “ZUENA”, but the lyrics and the message is the same as that one which was earlier produced by Ragga Dee.
“You reproduced and performed our Client’s song, which is still trending on social media and Youtube.
You never sought our Client’s permission before you remixed, reproduced and performed the song.”
That , the acts of Mikie wine violated Ragga Dee’s proprietary rights under the Copyright and
Neighbouring Act (Cap 222) of the Laws of Uganda.
“Take notice, that if you don’t compensate our Client in the sum of Uganda 300,000,000/=) only, within seven days.we have instructions to institute a law suit against copyright infringement to your embarrassment, charging costs notwithstanding.”
