The State Minister for housing and MP for Bukono, Hon. Persistent Namuganza has threatened to leave the NRM party and either join any Opposition Party as a result on irregularities in the recent Party elections where she miserably lost.

According to the results declared by Mayanja Richard , Namutumba , NRM Returning officer , Emmanuel Maganda was announced the winner for Bukono Constituency NRM Primaries with 32226 votes, followed by Hon. Namuganza with 17,324 votes.
However, during the media interview held over the weekend, Namuganza refused to concede defeat citing out that the elections were full of irregularities and therefore it will be wrong to take such results seriously.
She added that unless something is done urgently, she is ready to contest as an independent in the forthcoming elections or join any other opposition Political Party.
This has come at a time when many NRM members are threatening to quit the party after losing the party elections.
