Justice Ssemogerere Karoli Lwanga, Resident Judge of the Kabale High Court Circuit, convened a stakeholders’ engagement meeting with representatives from Kisoro, Rubanda, Kabale, the legal fraternity, and the Ministry of Lands.

Highlighting ongoing developments, Justice Karoli announced plans to establish a Magistrate’s Court in Rukiga District, noting that premises for the new court had already been identified. As part of efforts to modernize judicial services, he also introduced a dedicated website for Kabale High Court, through which court records, including judgments, will be easily accessible to the public.
Justice Karoli encouraged all stakeholders to embrace technological innovations and urged the police and subordinate courts to adopt video conferencing facilities to enable the participation of expert witnesses.
He further underscored the importance of prioritizing juvenile justice, reaffirming that Mondays and Fridays will be dedicated to handling cases related to juveniles, family matters, bail applications, and succession.
The Court’s Assistant Registrar HW Tumwebaze Kenneth, emphasized that the primary aim of such engagements is to strengthen justice delivery, address existing gaps, and consolidate public trust in the justice sector.
HW Komakech Kenneth, Chief Magistrate of Kisoro, informed participants that plans are underway to establish a new court in Rubirizi and that Kisoro will benefit from the introduction of a Municipal Council.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to collaborate closely in enhancing access to justice and improving service delivery within the region.
