Naguru, Kampala – The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Lino Anguzu, on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police, Abbas Byakagaba, at the Uganda Police Force Headquarters in Naguru, in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and the Uganda Police Force (UPF).

Mr. Anguzu, accompanied by a delegation from the ODPP, held discussions with the IGP and his team on key areas of cooperation to enhance the efficiency of Uganda’s criminal justice system.
The meeting focused on improving case and witness management, accelerating the digitalisation of the criminal justice process, advancing the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in appropriate cases, and strengthening security coordination to improve access to justice and service delivery.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a stronger institutional partnership to ensure criminal cases are handled more efficiently, fairly, and in the public interest.
They pledged to continue working closely to promote a more effective, accessible, and responsive criminal justice system through enhanced inter-agency cooperation.
The meeting concluded with the two delegations exchanging pleasantries, marking a renewed commitment to collaboration between the two institutions.
