Nkumba University has appointed businessman and alumnus Abraham Luzzi as its Honorary Ambassador, entrusting him with spearheading alumni and stakeholder mobilization while strengthening the institution’s brand visibility and strategic positioning.

The appointment was announced by the university leadership as part of a broader effort to deepen engagement with distinguished alumni whose professional achievements continue to inspire current and prospective students.
Speaking during the announcement, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. jude Lubega said Luzzi’s outstanding contribution to Uganda’s industrial and agricultural sectors, coupled with his strong attachment to his alma mater, made him the ideal choice for the honorary role.
“Abraham stood out as one of our alumni making remarkable strides in Uganda’s industrial sector. We also wanted someone who would serve as an inspiration to our current and prospective students,” said Prof Jude.
Adding that, “He was our student, and it is time for us to harness the experience, knowledge and networks he has built after university. We are confident that he will serve as a worthy example and make a meaningful contribution to the Nkumba University community.”
The Vice Chancellor noted that the appointment aligns with the university’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with its alumni and leveraging their expertise to advance institutional growth and mentorship.
In his acceptance remarks, Luzi described the appointment as a homecoming, saying the university played a pivotal role in shaping his entrepreneurial journey.
“This is home. I have been here before and even served as Chairperson Baganda Nkooba za Mbogo. I am delighted to return and become part of the institution that shaped my business acumen,” he said.
Luzi pledged to use the ambassadorial role to build stronger links between academia and industry, revealing plans to initiate discussions aimed at forging partnerships between Ssebo Foods and Nkumba University.
