His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has paid tribute to Sheikh Uzaima Magumba , the former Kadhi of Bugweri Muslim District, and his wives for being exemplary parents who prioritised education for their children.

The Mufti made the remarks during a fatherly engagement with members of Sheikh Uzaima Magumba’s family who paid a courtesy visit to his office on Friday evening, June 19, 2026.
The family was accompanied by a daughter, Namukose Mariam, who was among 1,563 students who successfully graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice during the 53rd Graduation Ceremony (Part II) held at the Law Development Centre on the same day.
The Mufti congratulated the graduate and urged her to uphold integrity, professionalism, and truthfulness in her practice as she serves the public.
He further commended Sheikh Uzaima Magumba for his commitment to education, noting that his children have grown into professionals, including an engineer, a doctor, and two lawyers. The Mufti also called on Muslim parents to emulate Sheikh Uzaima’s example by investing in their children’s education, stressing the importance of responsible parenting guided by Islamic teachings.
He reminded parents of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who emphasised three key responsibilities in child upbringing: giving a child a good and meaningful name, educating them about their Creator, and ensuring they are guided into suitable marriages when they come of age.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Mufti, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa; the Second Deputy Mufti, His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya; Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance & Administration, the Mufti’s Special Envoy to South Sudan, Sheikh Twaha Uthuman Kajaaya; Bugweri District NRM Chairperson Hajji Shaban Nkutu; and Prince Habib Musa Mawanda, the Private Secretary to the Mufti.
