Kampala -A few days after President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to give five billion shillings to Bloggers and other online creators who met him at his Farm in Kisozi, the group led by Isaac Daniel Katende aka Kasuku has came up with guidelines to those who will benefit from the funds.

These under Uganda Bloggers Association SACCO have issued comprehensive guidelines and requirements for individuals seeking to join the savings and credit cooperative society.
In a notice dated March 4, 2026, the association outlined eligibility criteria, registration requirements, and member benefits for prospective applicants.
According to the document signed by the Secretary General, Duke Mwesigwa Fredric, the SACCO operates in accordance with Uganda’s Cooperative Societies Act Cap 107.
Under the eligibility criteria, applicants must be bloggers, content creators, digital marketers, social media influencers, or online publishers. They are also required to be registered members of the Bloggers Association and provide proof of earning income from digital content or related work.
The guidelines further state that both Ugandan citizens and members in the diaspora are eligible to apply. A non-refundable registration fee of UGX 50,000 is required.
For registration, applicants must submit a completed membership form, a valid National ID or passport, a TIN number, two passport-sized photographs, and an active phone number and email address. Additionally, applicants must possess a minimum of 50 shares at the time of application and provide a certificate or proof of training in financial literacy.
Upon approval, members are required to open a savings account with the SACCO, agree to make monthly deposits, contribute savings as determined by the general meeting, and purchase shares as stipulated by the cooperative.
Members will be entitled to access loan facilities subject to meeting loan requirements, earn dividends on shares depending on annual surplus, vote and be voted into leadership positions, and benefit from financial literacy and capacity-building programs.
“All applicants shall be reviewed by the committee. Successful applicants will receive written confirmation of membership,” the notice reads.
