Buhweju County Member of Parliament, Francis Mwijukye, has dismissed a video circulating on social media that is being attributed to him, describing it as false and digitally fabricated.

In a statement dated February 3, 2026, Mwijukye said he is aware of the video making rounds on various online platforms and clarified that he is not the individual depicted in the footage. He stated that upon reviewing the content, he established that the video was generated using artificial intelligence and does not represent him in any way.
“The video is AI-generated and constitutes a misuse of digital technologies,” the statement reads in part.
The legislator strongly condemned the circulation of the video and cautioned the public against consuming and sharing misleading digital content. He urged citizens to exercise caution and responsible judgment, especially in an era where emerging technologies can be abused to spread false information.
Mwijukye’s statement comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create deceptive content, commonly known as deepfakes, which have increasingly targeted public figures.
The MP reaffirmed his rejection of the video and appealed to the public to rely on verified and credible sources for information.
