KAMPALA -Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi has set Wednesday 23rd July as the date at which he will deliver the ruling for the bail application filed by Hon Robert Kyagulanyi’s civilian body guard Noah Mitala aka Noah Mitala.
The matter was previously pushed to Monday 21st July 2025 , for state Prosecution’s response and ruling but this was not possible due to the lengthy submissions by both sides.
State Prosecution led by Richard Birivumbika asked Court not to grant Mutwe’s request because none of his sureties fulfilled all the requirements required under the law.
“I carefully listened when Court was interacting with sureties on 14th July 2025 , when court interacted with Mr Kabuubi confirmed his son had two homes in Kanyanya and Gombe , the only letter is that of Kanyanya , but up to now they haven’t produced the second recommendation letter to court.” Submitted State Prosecutor Ivan Kyazze
He also questioned the act of replacing Noah’s LC 1 Chairperson from being a surety yet he is one of the credible individuals who would have ensured that he returns to court wherever he is required to do so.
They brought it to attention of Court that Nakiwanuka Florence, one of the sureties presented in court was of advanced age and couldn’t afford taking on the responsibility of a surety.
Defence in rejoinder, asked the trial Magistrate to ignore the State’s request and grant their client bail because he is a responsible citizen who produced substantial sureties.
The matter has been adjourned to Wednesday 23rd July for bail ruling.
Prosecution alleges Mitala and a police officer Charles Twine and others still at large between January 2024 and May 2025 to have invited violence against President Yoweri Museveni and the CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
They are also charged with hate speech and malicious communication targeting the speaker of parliament Anita Among and his Deputy Thomas Tayebwa.
