Makindye – Hon. Allan Ssewanyana popularly known as Musajja was Bwino has publicly announced that he will be contesting against National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Candidate Zahara Luyirika for Makindye West.

“In NUP I expressed interest to Contest for Makindye West Parliamentary seat because I knew who I am, during vetting process
, I answered the questions very well and we were told that the support on ground in the Constituency contributes 60 percent. I was eager to look at my performance (marks) compared to my other colleagues, but unfortunately upto now, the results are no where to be seen.” Said Ssewanyana at a Thanksgiving mass at Nsambya Gardens
Ssewanyana decried the unfairness of NUP’s Elections Management Committee (EMC) which failed to base on the real situation on the ground and instead gave the card to an individual of their choice.
“Parliament has had many challenging laws like; that involving trying civilians in Army Courts , laws affecting Traders / business men, laws against buying and selling of coffee. I have been one of those legislators standing against those laws, although in most cases NRM Members of Parliament have been defeating opposition in numbers.”

He also emphasized that having risen through ranks, from a grass root representative to an MP, he understands all problems affecting Makindye and he is ready to continue pushing for development programs with in this constituency.
Rev Fr. Joseph Kasasa who led the Thanks giving Mass, asked Ssewanyana to continue praying and trusting the Lord who saved him from Prison because he is ready to save him from all his challenges.
The event attracted hundreds of leaders from all over Makindye West who deliberated on better ways through which Ssewanyana may defeat his opponents come 2021.
