KAMPALA– The Electoral Commission has made changes on the date which National Unity Platform (NUP) Candidate will be nominated to Contest in the 2026 General elections.
According to latest letter dated 22nd September 2025, Kyagulanyi’s Nomination has been changed from Tuesday 23rd Sept to Wednesday 24th September 2025.
“This is to inform you that the National Unity Platform party aspiring candidate is
scheduled to be nominated on 24 September, 2025 at 2.00 p.m.
Please do take note of the scheduled timeline above and inform the party aspiring
candidate accordingly.” Reads part of the letter addressed to NUP Secretary General.
With this new changes, it means all NUP’s Rallies which had been scheduled to take place at Katwe and Nateete has been also pushed ahead.
On Tuesday, the Electoral Commission will go ahead to nominate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the flag bearer for National Resistance Movement as earlier planned and a few other candidates.
