KAMPALA– Parliamentary diplomacy and bilateral cooperation dominated discussions as Speaker Annet Anita Among, today met with the South Korea’s Ambassador to Uganda H.E. Park Sung-Soo, who led a delegation of Members of Parliament from the Korean National Assembly.

Speaker Among commended the Korean government for the strategic development partnership with Uganda, especially in the health, education, water, and sanitation sectors.
“We encourage you to remain good friends of Uganda. As we strengthen the parliamentary and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries, let us also work together to invest more in the health sector for sustainable development,” Among said.
To enhance diplomatic relations, H.E. Park Sung-Soo, proposed that the Ugandan government establishes an embassy in the Republic of Korea, to which Speaker Among pledged to urgently follow up with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Uganda and South Korea have enjoyed a cordial diplomatic relationship since 1963.
