KAMPALA– Democratic Party President, Hon. Nobert Mao has revealed that if he is given a chance to make a choice as an individual in the forthcoming general elections, he will be behind President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the flag bearer for National Resistance Movement (NRM).
As a Party, we have decided that we shall discuss that, but if you ask me as Mao, I will back President Museveni. But we need the Party I lead , to pronounce itself formally.” Said Mao during an interview with NBS Television on Monday.
Mao added that as an individual, he is not ashamed of declaring where he stands.
In their weekend meeting, the Democratic Party’s National Executive Committee agreed not to front any Candidate at Presidential level in the forthcoming general elections, but will instead put much emphasis on the Parliamentary elections.
