Maj Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire, the Minister for Internal Affairs, has asked Uganda Police has written to the inspector General of Police ordering to provide the required security to the homecoming ceremony of Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga, the first Deputy Prime Minister scheduled to take place today.

“I have had of attempts by Police to stop her home coming celebrations. Because of the prevailing charged political
atmosphere, stopping her may result into unrest and riots.
Police should not stop the celebrations but ensure there is no
trouble during her intended celebrations as police conduct may be an excuse to cause insurrection.”
On Thursday, Police cleared the home coming ceremony of Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga scheduled to be held in Jinja and Kamuli districts but banned processions as earlier planned.
