Mukono District leaders have commended contractors and consultants working on the Ntenjeru–Bule Road project (Bujiji to Bule) for the progress made so far in upgrading the 7.8km stretch from earth to bituminous standard.

The project, being implemented by China Railway 5 Construction Company and supervised by Professional Engineer Consultants and Gesh, is supported under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme (GKMA-UDP).
During a meeting held at the project campsite in Mpata Sub-county, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Muhumuza Stephen, led a delegation comprising the District Planner and GKMA-UDP Focal Person, as well as other heads of district departments and the Mpata Sub-county technical team.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Namanda, Mr. Muhumuza expressed appreciation for the quality of work done but urged the contractors to ensure active involvement of local workers. He emphasized that employing community members not only creates jobs but also fosters ownership and sustainability of the project.
He further tasked the contractors to expedite the works within the agreed timelines while ensuring that the surrounding communities benefit from the investment. Mr. Muhumuza also cautioned against indiscipline among some workers, noting reports of arrogance and reckless behavior such as driving under the influence of alcohol. He directed the contractors to monitor their teams closely to avoid potential accidents and conflicts with residents.
The Ntenjeru–Bule road upgrade is a critical investment expected to improve accessibility, ease transport, and boost socio-economic development in Mpata Sub-county and surrounding areas. With continued collaboration between the contractors, district leadership, and the local community, the project is anticipated to transform mobility and enhance livelihoods upon completion.
