KANYANYA – On Wednesday, Kawempe Chief Magistrates Court remanded National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy Spokesperson Waiswa Mufumbiro and Foot soldier Saudah Madada to Luzira Prison.

Mufumbiro who is a party flag bearer for the position of Nakawa East Member of Parliament, was arrested outside the same court premises on Monday, while Madada an independent aspiring Lord Woman Councilor for Kampala, was arrested on Tuesday at Busia Border as she tried to cross to Kenya.
The duo on appearing before Grade one Magistrate Damalie Agumaasiimwe, were charged with unlawful drilling (conducting military like exercises without authorization) and conspiracy to commit a felony, they denied all the charges.
These have joined six other individuals on remand including Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine’s Private Guards, Eddie Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi and Tasi Calvin aka Bobi Giant.
Since Investigations in the matter are still underway, they were remanded to Prison until 29th September 2025.
Prosecution contends , that on February 12, 2025, at the NUP offices in Makerere-Kavule, Wandegeya, Kawempe Division, the seven accused and others still at large gathered without ministerial permission and engaged in military-style training.
The prosecution further contends that the accused conspired with others to commit a felony, in violation of Sections 45(1)(b) and 363 of the Penal Code Act, which prohibit unlawful drilling and conspiracy to commit felonies.
