KAMPALA – On Tuesday evening Police in Kampala arrested Singer turned into Politician Bukeni Ali aka Nubian Li a few hours after being nominated to Contest on the post of Nakawa Division Mayorship.
He was driven to unidentified place, which left many questions on what could happen next to the soft spoken humble Singer. Later, in the evening news broke that he had been driven back to his home.
“Thank you all, comrades and friends, for your concern and messages of solidarity.
I was arrested at the EC offices right after my nomination. After being driven around in circles, they eventually dropped me off at home. They claimed I was planning to hold a procession, as if that’s a crime! Many NRM candidates held processions to and from their nominations, and the police did nothing.” Read part of Nubian Li’s message posted on his Facebook Account.
In the same vain, Saudah Madada, a Staunch National Unity Platform (NUP) supporter was arrested by immigration at the Border while she was exiting the country.
She was later driven off back to Kampala where is expected to face charges on the file said to be ready at Wandegeya Police station.
