Sheema, Uganda – A day after , Ephraim Kamuntu has been elected as the NRM flag bearer for Sheema South, he has called upon the Party leadership to dismiss all party members who lose primaries and then choose to run as independents.

On addressing the press in Sheema on Friday, Kamuntu noted that the NRM constitution is very clear that , once you participate in the primaries, you must respect the outcome.
“ Running as an independent or supporting opposition candidates after losing contradicts party principles. The constitution clearly provides that such actions warrant dismissal from the party. Impunity and defiance weaken the party’s unity and strength. If there are concerns about malpractice, they should be addressed through party disciplinary procedures – not by defying the party.” Kamuntu stated
He added that there are some members who confuse voters claiming that they are independent but NRM leaning which is not good for the party.
This has come at a time when majority of the NRM members who lost in the Party Primaries and not in agreement with the results are threatening to contest as independents in the forthcoming elections.
