Namirembe – The top leadership of the Democratic Front has officially endorsed former Rubaga North Member of Parliament Hon. Moses Kasibante as the party’s official flag bearer for the Lubaga Division mayoral in the upcoming general elections.

Kasibante, who represented Rubaga North for two terms, was officially nominated today by the DF’s Electoral Commission, headed by Mr. Henry Lubowa.
Arriving in cheerful spirits, Kasibante was accompanied by top figures from the DF, including the Party’s National Chairman Mr. Lubega Mukaaku, Secretary General Michael Sseninde Mabike, the Party Whip in Parliament and Entebbe Municipality MP, Michel Kakembo Mbwatekamwa, and others.
Speaking to the media after the nomination, Mr. Moses Kasibante noted that Lubaga Division has long been politically neglected, adding that the current local leaders in the division urgently need another political liberation due to their poor leadership skills.
According to Mr. Kasibante, the people of Lubaga are facing multiple challenges, including high taxes and unfair property rates, poor road networks, and inadequate sanitation resulting from a deficient drainage system. He stated that the current local leadership has failed to address these issues due to incompetence.
Michael Kakembo Mbwatekamwa, the Party Whip in Parliament, commended the party’s top leadership for entrusting Hon. Kasibante, whom he described as a formidable leader who has undergone thorough grooming.
Kakembo emphasized that DF strongly believes that in Hon. Kasibante, the people of Lubaga have found a liberator and a true leader.
Kasibante will compete against NUP’s incumbent mayor, Zackey Mberaze Mawula among other candidates.
