KAMPALA– The high court in Kampala has set the 1st September 2025 which is next month to kick off the trial of Rtd Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye and his aidee Obeid Lutale and a UPDF soldier capt Denis Olaa where the trial are indicted with treason.
According to the summons from the deputy registrar Samuel Twakyirwe, the trio will be tried before the high court judge Emmanuel Baguma.
Meanwhile Dr. Besigye had asked for the recusal of justice Baguma citing his bias towards their case, and the ruling is pending delivery via Email.
Besigye and Lutale have been on remand since November last year on charges of treason they allegedly committed in countries of Kenya, Greece and Switzerland between 2023 and November last year.
