Masaka– The President of the Democratic Front-DF, Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, has today joined the Catholic faithful of Kitovu Deanery in Masaka Diocese to celebrate the Jubilee Year in a mass led by the ordinary of Masaka Diocese, Rt.Rev.Bishop Severus Jjumba.
The Sunday Mass celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Kimaanya parish is part of the many jubilee celebrations organized by the Catholic Church worldwide to commemorate the Jubilee Year, which is aimed at strengthening the Catholic faith and encouraging spiritual growth.
In his address, Mpuuga commended the Episcopal Conference for the wonderful thoughts and guidance they recently provided to the nation through their Pastoral letter, as the country heads toward the 2026 election.
In their pastoral letter, which was released recently by the Chairperson of the Episcopal Conference, Rt. Rev. Bishop Anthony Zziwa, the Bishops demanded a review of the electoral laws if the country is to have peaceful, free and fair elections.
However, Mpuuga expressed that despite the guidance, many political players are more focused on scrambling for political seats than discussing ways to effectively enforce the well thought-about guidance.
