BUDAKA-Uganda People Defence Forces (UPDF) working with Uganda Police on Thursday arrested 38 individuals with fake Academic documents.

The 38 were arrested at Budaka District Headquarters for presenting forged academic documents during the ongoing Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) recruitment exercise in the Bukedi region.
Brig Gen Michael Ssozi Ssesanga, who is overseeing the recruitment, urged applicants to present only original academic papers, stressing that the process is running smoothly.
He also warned, that anyone attempting to cheat the system through presenting fake documents, would face arrest.
He commended local leaders for their support and cooperation in ensuring a transparent recruitment process on top of ensuring that all those trying to flaunt the process are arrested.
In various parts of the UPDF and the Police have arrested a number of people trying to join the army using forged academic transcripts.
