Bunamwaya – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commended the great work which was done by Late Joseph Tamale Mirundi while he was the Presidential Press Secretary.

In his message delivered by Hajji Farouk Kirunda, Presidential Assistant on Press and Mobilization also Deputy Spokesperson, at the Memorial service held at St Gyavira Bunamwaya, Museveni described Mirundi as one the people who always preached the good news at National Resistance Movement (NRM) government where he went.
“By the time he died, the late Tamale had become a household name. He was hailed for his outspoken nature, especially whenever he appeared on radio and television talk shows.”
The President also thanked the family for having organized this service in remembrance of one year since Mirundi’s departure which he described as a good sign of keeping Tamale’s legacy alive.
“I also want to thank the Church, for leading the memorial service; and all the friends and former colleagues of the late Tamale, who have remained close to his family. even in his death’ he said.”
At this event, Hajji Kirunda launched the Construction of Mirundi Media Plaza (in remembrance of Mirundi) and estimated to cost a tune of 1 billion shillings.
Towards this cause, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni contributed 30 million shillings and promised more support, well as Kirunda promised on behalf of his family to deliver 300 bags of cement.
The late Tamale Male Mirundi who was among the country’s top political analysts, passed away on 13th August 2024 and he was laid to rest at his Ancestral home at Kalagala in Kyotera district.
