The family of the late Rhoda Kalema together with the burial organizing committee, have released a full burial program.

The program which was released on Tuesday, says that the body will be returned from Nairobi where she passed away from , thereafter , there will be a funeral service at St Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe starting at 9.00 am.
On the same day, there will be a vigil at Kalema’s family home in Muyenga, Plot 860, Kalema drive in Muyenga starting at 6.00pm.
The following day, Friday 8th August 2025, there will be a vigil at Kalema Family residence in Kiboga district.
Then on Saturday 9th August, burial will be held at the same venue starting with a service at 10.00 am.
Rhoda Nakibuuka Nsibirwa Kalema born on 10th May 1929, passed away on 3rd August 2025 at the age of 96 years
She was a Ugandan politician known as the country’s Mother of Parliament.
Kalema was among the first women to sit in Uganda’s post-Amin National Consultative Council and later served as Deputy Minister of Public Service under President Yoweri Museveni from 1989 to 1991.
In 1994, She was also elected to Uganda’s Constituent Assembly in 1994 after defeating eight male contenders in Kiboga District.
Through out her service, she is been at the lead of promoting women empowerment.
