Wakiso-Hon.Medard Lubega Ssegona, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Busiro East has thanked the people of Busiro East Constituency for entrust him with representing them in Parliament for 15 consecutive years which has never happened before.
Following the defeat that happened in the recently concluded elections were Emmanuel Magoola, an independent leaning candidate emerged the winner, Ssegona has welcomed the results and promised to work with him were necessary.
“You shouldn’t be worried of my well being after Parliament, because with the Lord’s blessings when one closes, another one opens.”
He asked all those that he had annoyed or disagreed with at one point or the other, to forgive him as he starts a new life outside Parliament.
Hon. Ssegona joined Parliament in 2011 on Democratic Party ticket the Party which he later dropped and joined National Unity Platform (NUP).
In 2021, he was elected back to Parliament on NUP ticket which he didn’t retain in 2025 after the Electoral Management Committee of the Party gave it to Singer Mathias Walukagga.
Walukagga was later denominated for lack of minimum Academic qualifications, he petitioned Court which later upheld the Electoral Commission’s decision.
