NW0YA — The Nwoya Chief Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday convened the District Chain-Link Committee (DCC) meeting for the Second Quarter of the 2025/26 financial year, bringing together key players in the justice, security, and community sectors to strengthen cooperation and improve service delivery in the district.

Held at the court premises, the meeting was attended by representatives from Nwoya Central Police Station, Nwoya Government Prisons, the Office of the Resident District Commissioner, the District Internal Security Office, the Town Clerk’s Office, the Uganda Law Society/Legal Aid Clinic, the Community Service Office, and civil society organisations, including Redeem International, among others.
Discussions focused mainly on two critical upcoming periods—the general elections and the festive season—both of which are expected to place increased demands on the justice and security sectors. Stakeholders emphasized the need for enhanced inter-agency coordination, proactive planning, and strengthened community engagement to ensure effective justice delivery, public safety, and overall stability in the district.
During the session, each participating institution presented progress reports, highlighted operational challenges, and предложed practical recommendations aimed at improving collaboration and addressing bottlenecks in justice sector service delivery.
Chairing the meeting, the Chief Magistrate of Nwoya and DCC Chairperson, His Worship Omara Innocent David, commended members for their commitment and continued support to the court. He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration, especially during periods of heightened activity, noting that coordinated efforts are essential for maintaining law, order, and public confidence in the justice system.
The DCC meeting reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to work together in safeguarding peace, promoting accountability, and ensuring timely and effective justice services for the people of Nwoya District.
