KAMPALA– The Executive Committee of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has convened a meeting in accordance with the UMSC Constitution as amended in 2022.

Article 8, subsection (7) of the Constitution provides that “the Executive Committee shall be the principal governing organ responsible for conducting and administering the affairs of the UMSC and shall have full powers to act on behalf of the Assembly between the meetings of that body, but subject to subsequent approval of the General Assembly.”
Pursuant to the above provision, the Executive Committee meeting officially commenced its mandated business this afternoon on Oct 15th 2025 under the stewardship of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Lubega Kisambira, the National Chairperson. The majority of the honourable members turned up for the sitting in the boardroom, UMSC headquarters, Old Kampala.
In attendance were His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda; Hon. Haji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, the Secretary General; Hon. Counsel Haji Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Deputy Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration; Hon. Abdu-Razaq Arinda, the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Planning and Development; and Hon. Haji Juma Ali Ngobi.
The members are expected to receive several Sectoral Committee reports, policies , deliberate on them, and subsequently pass resolutions. The outcomes of the meeting will be communicated to the public in due course.
